2011 Eleusis Field Programme
Following the success of our August 2010 digitization project, and in collaboration with the University of Arkansas, we successfully completed the second season and further developed our innovative 3D laser scanning of the archaeological site of Eleusis.
Climate change and the monuments
Climate change is a great environmental issue faced by humanity today. Its consequences have not fully been mapped despite the fact that thousands of awareness raising events have been organized and academic research has been conducted.
Dr. Kalliopi Fouseki (Science Museum) and Dr. Georgios Alexopoulos (IPUP)
Although the broadening of the audience in museums has been tackled by the field of museology since the 1950s, the need to engage people from a broader sociological spectrum has today emerged as a mandatory requirement.

Innovative collaboration

This new master’s programme is a collaborative dual award from the University of Kent in UK and the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in Greece, a partnership that ensures world-class tuition and an interdisciplinary learning environment. A critical element in the local dynamism and global relevance of the programme is provided by the Initiative for Heritage Conservancy, an innovative education and research project (supported by prominent international and Greek bodies and philanthropists) that creates its own opportunities in the field.
